What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dispatch position at Medstar Ambulance?
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Must be at least 21 years of age.
2. Must have High School Diploma or equivalent
3. Must have current, valid Drivers License.
4. Must complete at least 2 days of Dispatch Observation on day Shift.
5. Motivated in providing optimum emergency medical services to the communities served by MedStar
6. Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position.
7. Able to be decisive, responsible, and work well with others in a team environment, as reflected in training records and personal references.
8. Certified EMERGENCY MEDICAL DISPATCHER (EMS) through Medical Priority Dispatch, or successfully complete 24 hours certification course with three months of initial employment at your expense. You will be reimbursed after six (6) months of continuous employments.
9. Must be currently certified in CPR, and must maintain such certification at all times while working in telecommunication.
10. Must be "multi-tasking (able to successfully perform several tasks at once), and adaptable to frequent changes in policies and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITY
1. Each individual is directly responsible to the President of the Company and/or his appointed designee, generally the Dispatch Manager.
2. Each telecommunicator is responsible to maintain all necessary certification and.or licenses requirements at all times, at his/her own, while working in telecommunications.
