General Summary of Position
Responsible for analysis, configuration, maintenance, testing, and support for computer based corporate application system upgrades, new releases, and optimization implementations for the hospital. Work closely with developers and/or key users, assessing business needs and determining/implementing information technology solutions.
This Business Analyst will support
entity partners across the system to implement and maintain Symplr Staff
Scheduling software. The Analyst will work with ERP Business Partners
includes, business unit teams, schedulers, managers, information technology
staff, payroll, and the vendors in planning and standardization.
Acts as liaison between clinical unit functions of
staffing and scheduling and the Symplr Team. Facilitates communication
between staff, Symplr Team and management.
Collaborates with Human Resources, Business Units,
and Payroll to execute Symplr scheduling products functions.
Acts as system expert for the configuration process
and during learning and discovery activities for Symplr scheduling
products.
Assist business partners to gather information
needed to assess configuration requirements. Assist in defining business
rules for scheduling.
Support system validation and testing. Assist with
set-up, interface testing and execute test scenarios.
Provide ongoing system oversight of scheduling
products, scheduling, optimization and maintenance. Assists in the
development of enhanced support methods and systems.
Support both Symplr Staff Scheduling and Time and
Attendance. Must be
willing to carry a pager/cell phone and be available for 24 x 7 on-call support
to include weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Frequency of rotation
will vary depending on need/size of department. #LI-remote
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in business discipline, Computer Science Required or
- similar field Required or
- equivalent combination of experience and education. Required and
- Oracle PeopleSoft training Preferred
- 3-4 years 3 years experience in application analysis, design, systems implementation and package integration. Required
- 1-2 years 1 year business analysis experience implementing and supporting various oracle peoplesoft modules such as: HR, payroll, benefits, T&L, self service,general ledger, accounts payable, fixed assets,projects, grants, purchasing, and inventory. Experience working the interface of information technology with functional groups within an organization. Experience with business process mapping and re-engineering. 1 year business analysis experience implementing and supporting various oracle peoplesoft modules such as: HR, payroll, benefits, T&L, self service,general ledger, accounts payable, fixed assets,projects, grants, purchasing, and inventory. Experience working the interface of information technology with functional groups within an organization. Experience with business process mapping and re-engineering.

- Decomposes high-level business and user requirements into functional requirements, specified in an appropriate level of detail suitable for use by those responsible for basing their work on said requirements.
- Develops and maintains good relationships with customers and systems colleagues to ensure successful implementations and to meet expected customer service levels.
- Develops detailed system test plans, executes system test cases and provides issue tracking and consolidation.
- Documents application specific support information (e.g. developing Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ), daily procedures, etc.) and maintains the information on the Intranet.
- Identifies and validates business objectives, and generate solutions that align with MedStar's technology strategy and standards.
- Leads in analyzing data to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Maintains expert knowledge about the system through participation in vendor classes, vendor client conferences, and working with vendor support.
- Maintains operational procedures to ensure data integrity and maximum system availability.
- Manages a coordinated User Acceptance Test (UAT) effort.
- Participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams as appropriate. Participates in meetings, serves on committees and represents the department and hospital/facility in community outreach efforts as appropriate.
- Participates in peer reviews and inspections of requirements documents, and reviews of work product derived from requirements specifications to ensure that they were interpreted correctly.
- Performs analysis, conceptual design, and implementation of modifications to purchased applications or custom programs to enhance value to business. Applies business and systems knowledge throughout process.
- Performs business analysis and document business requirements using easy to understand tools and methodologies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Provides expertise to team members and mentors junior team members, 2nd level production support.
- Reports the status of project efforts. Anticipates/identifies issues that inhibit the attainment of project goals and implement corrective actions.
- Translates requirements into functional design solutions.
