General Summary of Position
Responsible for the daily maintenance of floors in the facility including ancillary areas. Refinishes and maintains vinyl flooring, wood flooring, and cleans carpeted areas. Performs a variety of other duties as needed including cleaning of patient areas and custodial duties as assigned.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Sweep and mop hard surface floors.
- Vacuum carpets.
- Remove and transport trash
- Operate floor machines, rinse extractors, floor scrubbers and other electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Collect and transport biohazard and hazardous waste
- Strip and wax floors.
- Set up conference rooms and move furniture.
- Transport beds.
- May work outside on grounds.
- May be assigned to work in the laundry.
- Clean equipment and notify management of equipment needing repair.
- Clean housekeeping closets.
- May clean patient areas and discharge rooms.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
