Receives, inspects, stores, delivers, and issues materials, supplies, and equipment. Maintains inventory levels by checking shelves, restocks supply carts, and maintains supply records. May perform a variety of cleaning tasks and maintains clean and sanitary conditions in all Food Service area which may include dishwashing, pot washing, general sanitation, cleaning and use of kitchen equipment if applicable. May assist in the service and storage of food if applicable.
Education
High School Diploma or GED required or
equivalent. required
Experience
Less than 1 year 6 months related experience required and
Experience working with computerized inventory management systems preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to perform mathematic calculations including addition, subtractions, multiplication and division.
Verbal and written communications.
Ability to read, comprehend and write the English language.
Basic computer skills preferred.
Assists in the care and maintenance of departmental equipment and supplies.
Assures appropriate procedures are followed within MMIS / Par Excel, to maintain integrity of the inventory system to eliminate stock-outs in warehouse and nursing units.
Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
Identifies and troubleshoot problems and track flow through the Materials Management information systems.
Maintains effective working relationships with other departments and participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams.
May be required to prepare, compare and / or check reports, records and other related data.
Monitors inventory levels : Prepares purchase orders when stock item reaches reorder point. Inventories user storage areas and replenishes inventory as needed. Stocks vendor delivers in warehouse or supply room and contacts established vendors to order routine supplies.
Prepares and maintains shipping records, makes up bills of lading, and other documentation for shipment of materials, parts, finished goods, and related items. Organizes and maintains records pertinent to stock levels, supply quantities issued, and other data. Maintains department records, reports, and files as required.
Receives incoming materials, supplies, and equipment and compares information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment against purchase order. Inspects shipments for damages or defects, records discrepancies or damages in shipment, and notifies supervisor or purchasing personnel.
Receives requests for supplies, selects stock from inventory, loads distribution vehicles, and distributes supplies and special instruments to requisitioning departments. Obtains authorization for accepted items.
Removes outdated sterile or other unused supplies and returns them to central supply for reprocessing or to general stores for disposition.
Uncrates and assembles equipment and ensures that patient care equipment has been properly labeled and inspected. Marks inventory articles with identification codes as needed.
