What are the responsibilities and job description for the Student Intern position at MedStar Medical Group?
The main responsibilities of the Student Intern are to provide administrative support to the human resources team and assist with front office support.
Education
High School Diploma or GED required and
Current enrollment in college, preferably in Human Resources degree program. required
Experience
Less than 1 year (6 months office or customer service experience) required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to provide excellent customer service to diverse customer base, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft office products including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Highly organized, process-oriented individual who has the ability to multi-task, be flexible and be a self-starter.
Ability to follow instructions and assist associates and visitors without compromising safety, service, care, or efficiency.
Friendly and professional when interacting with associates and visitors at all times.
Position is the initial face and initial voice of the office.
Must be able to project a positive and professional image at all times.
1. Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
2. Assists in maintaining office systems. Organizes and files information, reports, and correspondence.
3. Assists with badge making and assembling orientation materials.
4. TransfersPersonnel Files to the Electronic Filing System.
5. Updates database and personnel files to comply with Joint Commission Standards.
6. Maintains waiting area in clean and neat condition, restocking materials as needed.
7. Monitors administrative supplies and keeps administrative supplies sustained.
8. Participates in meetings and on committees and represents the department and hospital in community outreach efforts. Participates in multi-disciplinary quality and service improvement teams.
