The home care staff focuses on the immediate and long-term management of home bound patients presenting with a wide range of conditions, such as g-tubes, chest tubes, catheters, Iv's, and wound vacs. By providing home-based care, our clinicians aim to improve patient outcomes by preventing further complications, reducing the recurrence of hospital readmission, and enhancing the Medstar patient experience.
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a key member of the interdisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered acute nursing care to individuals with a variety of medical issues or who are preparing for or recovering from surgery. The LPN is a needed collaborative team member in partnership with and under the supervision of the registered nurse.
