What are the responsibilities and job description for the Retail Pharmacist - PRN/Day shift position at medstar-stg?
MedStar Pharmacy has an opportunity for an experienced retail Pharmacist to join our team on a PRN basis. Ideal candidate will be dual licensed in both DC and Maryland and able to cover PRN weekday and weekend shifts in our retail locations in both DC and Maryland (as far north as Baltimore). DC coverage is expected to be the primary need for this position.
Evaluates drugs prescribed by physicians for appropriateness of dose, therapeutic efficacy, allergy, drug interaction, and contraindications; processes prescriptions through insurance company and handles DUR rejects, pre-authorizations, etc.; performs final check on all prescriptions, ensuring accurate input, labeling, and dispensing; and, provides counseling and drug information to patients and physicians.
