What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacist - Retail / Outpatient - (PRN) position at medstar?
We are actively recruiting for an experienced retail / outpatient Pharmacist to join MedStar Pharmacy on a PRN basis to support our Washington, DC locations. Dual licensure in both DC and Maryland is a huge plus.
Evaluates drugs prescribed by physicians for appropriateness of dose, therapeutic efficacy, allergy, drug interaction, and contraindications; processes prescriptions through insurance company and handles DUR rejects, pre-authorizations, etc.; performs final check on all prescriptions, ensuring accurate input, labeling, and dispensing; and, provides counseling and drug information to patients and physicians.
