Primary Duties:
Obtains supplies/equipment/medications, as needed, from appropriate departments and transports to nursing units. Obtains “STAT” medications from Pharmacy and delivers to nursing units.
Assists nursing staff getting patients into chairs/beds/stretchers, and escorts/transports patients to and from ancillary departments. Responds to all “Codes” as assigned, to transport and obtain requests for supplies, medications, etc.
Transport specimens to appropriate laboratory. Utilizes communication devices (bellboy, walkie-talkie) to respond to requests for service, and always maintains all devices in proper working condition.
Communicates appropriate information to patients, staff, and visitors.
Maintains a safe environment for patients during all phases of transportation. Exemplifies Guest and Staff Relations standards in all activities.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.
Previous hospital or patient care experience preferred.
