This position will play a key dental care in our fast-growing
primary care facility. The prime focus will be examining, diagnosing, and developing
treatment plans for infectious and injuries of the teeth and mouth. Carrying out the
treatment plan in a competent and efficient manner is then expected.
Essential Functions :
Proficient in preforming dental procedures including : examinations and related
diagnoses, amalgam and composite restorations, root canal endodontic therapy,
extraction of erupted teeth and roots, simple surgical procedures, and denture
fabrication.
Ability to foster a cooperative work environment and have strong interpersonal skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for delivery of dental care.
Proficiency in prescribing medications within the standard of care.
Responsibilities :
Evaluate patients intraoral & peri-oral hard and soft tissue condition; including
caries, endodontic|periodontal pathology, soft tissue and developmental pathology.
Diagnose and treat emergency dental situations such as toothaches, broken
teeth|restorations, dislodged crown|bridges, broken dental prostheses.
Have a working understanding of the link between oral health and systemic medical
conditions.
Develop patient treatment plan; including preventive treatments, endodontic,
periodontal, restorative, prosthetic, and when necessary appropriate referrals.
Typically, all or nearly the entire treatment plan should be done "in house", referral
of complex endodontic, surgical and periodontal treatment is done after inter practice
discussion of the case has been exhausted.
