*Must live in one of the following cities or counties; Mesa, Chandler, Tempe, Phoenix, Gilbert, Case Grande, Coolidge, Maricopa, Pinal County.

Position Overview:

Under minimal supervision, you are required to perform complex client-service and administrative duties for MedTrans Express (MTE) Transportation department in communication/collaboration with MTE Dispatch and MTE Customer Service. The Transportation Specialist provides safe and reliable transportation to clients across the valley. Our Transportation Specialists are required to communicate with MTE’s Dispatch department to ensure timeliness of transportation assignments is met and/or exceeded. For agency insurability purposes, all Transportation Specialists for MTE must abide by all state-law driving requirements/regulations and pass a pre-employment background drug assessment. Within the first year of employment, a random drug screen assessment will be given to all Transportation Specialists, pursuant to the new Arizona Revised Statute Title 41, Chapter 15.

Essential duties and responsibilities (included but not limited to):

· Coordinate daily transportation services with agency dispatch department

· Provides safe, courteous and timely transportation of clients between home and varied behavioral health clinics throughout the valley;

· Submit vehicle maintenance reports, service report at the end of the shift, including but not limited to critical incident reports;

· Responsible for submitting accurate records of vehicle use, coordinates routine maintenance, licensing and other duties associated with assigned agency vehicle(s);

· Complies with all licensing and vehicle policies and regulations and adheres to agency procedures driver’s policy; and

· Ensures the safety and well being of passengers during transports and immediately notifies supervisor of any problems and issues.

Job Requirements

· CNA certification highly desirable;

· Experience working in healthcare or behavioral health preferred;

· Knowledge of AZ Department of Transportation regulations for safe vehicle operation;

· Ability to operate a vehicle in a safe and timely manner;

· Ability to safely perform duties despite unexpected and unplanned distractions that may arise;

· Must be able to work in a diverse, multi-cultural environment and be sensitive to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics;

· Effective written, oral and interpersonal communication skills;

· Class 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card from Arizona Department of Public Safety;

· At minimum, a HS/GED diploma;

· Must have an open schedule;

· Minimum 1 year experience working in a transportation position preferred;

· Possess a valid Arizona Driver’s License;

· Current First Aid Certification;

· Current CPR Certification; and

· Able to operate company vehicle, including 15 passenger vans (must be 23 years of age to drive agency vehicle).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
