Be a critical member of the Operations Innovation Manufacturing Test and Inspection leadership team. Work directly with Operations Innovation Manufacturing Test and Inspection Leadership as well as leadership and teams at globally distributed manufacturing sites to support of complex and innovative automated visual inspection and test engineering solutions. The initiatives including these solutions will deliver long-term, sustainable benefits for Medtronic and our customers and patients.

A Day in The Life
• Provide leadership and direction in uncharted territory, serving as a thought partner to their Director and Vice President, and other senior leaders in the organization
• Plans, directs and implements all aspects of the company's design and development of new medical device products or software systems
• May develop, evaluate, implement and maintain technical quality assurance and control systems or reliability systems and standards pertaining to materials, techniques, or company products
• Oversees the investigation and evaluation of existing technologies.
• Guides the conceptualization of new methodologies, materials, machines, processes or products
• Directs the development of new concepts from initial design to market release
• Manages feasibility studies of the design to determine if capable of functioning as intended
• Monitors documentation maintenance throughout all phases of research and development
• Organizes the coordination of activities with outside suppliers and consultants to ensure timely delivery
• Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function
Must Haves
Bachelor's Degree and 7 years of Engineering and/or Program Management experience OR advanced degree and 5 years of experience
Nice to Have
• Medical Device experience
• Ability to collaborate with Operations Innovation and Global Manufacturing leadership and Business Unit partners to understand and identify opportunities for operations-focused optimization, followed by collaboration to plan and execute prioritized improvement initiatives
• Solid understanding of structured product development (requirements-driven engineering, requirements documentation, rigorous verification, DFMEA, PFMEA, etc.)
• Expert knowledge of hardware and software engineering management activities, to include the verification and validation of both software and hardware
• Comfortable with Project Management principles, concepts, practices, and standards including a range of project management methodologies (sequential/waterfall, Scrum, Agile, etc.)
• Experienced in leading major project work streams within large improvement programs and/or leading improvement programs with key partners
• Experienced in actively leading the development and execution of projects, utilizing the development of project plans, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and cost/benefits analysis
• Ability to build the Operations Innovation Manufacturing Test and Inspection brand and reputation for rigor, collaboration, and excellence

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
