What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr Payroll Analyst position at Meduit?
Key Accountabilities
- Analyze, prepare, input, and process semi-monthly multi-state payroll data through UKG system
- Responsible for accurately maintaining payroll files and records
- Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws
- Enter wage garnishments/levies as appropriate.
- Reconcile and validate 401(k) & HSA contributions
- Distribute paychecks, process manual checks as needed, including same day termination checks as required by state law
- Provide periodic reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, miscellaneous custom reports, etc.) for HR and business leadership needs.
- Research, respond, and resolve payroll and tax issues and timely follow up to employee questions.
- Work closely with HRIS Analyst to ensure accurate and timely set up of earnings and deduction codes, and other payroll-related setups.
- Work closely with Finance to resolve payroll-related items
- Manage and participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or 2-year degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
- 2-4 years relevant experience in Payroll and Time & Attendance, specifically UKG preferred
- Understanding of payroll processes, systems, current state tax, overtime, and related payroll regulations/laws
- Proficient skills in Excel and use of formulas, pivot tables, and vlookups
- Proficient skills in Word
- UKG payroll experience preferred
