What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Ophthalmology Technician position at MedVet?
The Veterinary Eye Institute of Anaheim is seeking a skilled Credentialed Technician (CVT/LVT) or experienced Veterinary Technician for our busy ophthalmology specialty clinic.
No previous specialty experience is required, but our ideal candidate should have an interest in ophthalmology and an eagerness and willingness to learn.
Qualified candidates should be able to perform the following tasks:

- Obtain patient history from clients.
- Demonstrate proper restraint for exams and minor procedures.
- Ability to communicate instructions to clients regarding medication instructions and treatment plans recommended by the doctor.
- Perform venipuncture for blood draws, IV catheter placement, anesthetize and intubate patients.
- Knowledge of various routes of drug administration and ability to calculate and administer injections and fluids.
- Anesthesia monitoring (placing monitoring equipment, understanding and ability to evaluate values, manually monitor patient if necessary).
- Pre/Post-Surgical patient care and patient recovery.
- Maintaining surgical OR, equipment and instruments including cleaning, wrapping, sterilizing and organizing.
- Perform client call backs.
- May also require travel to another local Veterinary Clinic
- Availability for weekly on-call rotation is required
