Position Overview

Are you passionate about precision, teamwork, and making a difference in surgical care? As a Certified Surgical Technologist at Medworks, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring safe, efficient, and effective operations in the operating room.

In this role, you will primarily respond to cases at UVA Hospital in Charlottesville, VA. While most of your time will be spent at UVA Hospital, we welcome applicants who live within a 1.5-hour drive of UVA. Additionally, we are open to considering relocation assistance for qualified candidates who currently live out of state or too far from Charlottesville and are willing to move to the area. Please understand that this position will require more driving the further applicants live from UVA Hospital.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare Operating Rooms: Set up instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies to create a safe and efficient surgical environment.
• Support Surgical Teams: Anticipate surgeon needs, efficiently passing instruments and supplies during procedures.
• Maintain Sterility: Uphold aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to ensure patient safety.
• Operate Equipment: Manage Medworks rental lasers and equipment for service cases, ensuring seamless functionality.
• Communicate & Collaborate: Act as a liaison between the surgical team and Medworks, ensuring client preferences are clearly understood and met.
• Post-Procedure Support: Assist with cleanup, restocking supplies, and maintaining operational readiness.
• Requirements

Applicants must be Certified Surgical Technologists with active certification through an accredited certifying body, such as the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA). Applications from individuals who do not meet this requirement will not be considered.
