Shipping Clerk

Job Summary:

We’re looking for a Shipping Clerk to join the team! In this position, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely process of all shipping operations, yard activities, and yard inventory as it relates to the site operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all company guidelines and OSHA safety requirements and also through reporting violations of policies, procedures and guidelines to immediate supervisor.

• Process and check work orders finished by the shipping team members

• Prepare each shipment with shipping labels, packing slips, BOLs, and customs documentation when needed.

• Process orders based on buyer’s preferred shipping method (i.e. Routing Guides).

• Contact carriers to arrange pickup of shipments.

• Keep accurate documentation of quotes for later reference.

• Ensure the safety guidelines are being respected.

• Maintain a clean workspace

• Operate a forklift to move product or materials as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Education - high school education preferred

• At least one year of shipping or related experience.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and peripheral vision.
