Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research Technician to provide technical assistance to laboratory scientists in the execution of experiments and research studies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating laboratory tools and equipment, processing experimental data, collecting samples, recording observations, and analyzing experimental results. Additionally, the technician will assist in managing inventory, stock supplies, and preparing reports for further examination by the team and management.
Responsibilities:
- Support the development, validation, and execution of analytical assays using a variety of biological techniques, including but not limited to DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, qPCR, ELISA, Flow Cytometry, and Western Blots.
- Process biological matrices such as plasma, serum, tissue, and PBMC isolation.
- Assist with the establishment, characterization, maintenance, banking, expansion, and freezing of cell lines.
- Help in the printing of compounds using specialized dispensing equipment.
- Coordinate transportation of samples between sites as required and manage the shipment of reagents/samples within the US and internationally.
- Support animal experiments by providing the conceptual test article and analyzing resulting animal samples.
- Ensure the documentation and execution of experiments adhere to internal procedures and regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain laboratory space and equipment to ensure functionality and good working conditions.
- Prepare reports on laboratory activities for management review.
- Efficiently manage inventory and consumables in a cost-effective manner.
- Adhere to all applicable legal, environmental, health, and safety regulations for handling and disposing of reagents and samples.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences (Biology, Microbiology, Genetics, Immunology, etc.). A Master's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in a research laboratory environment, with proficiency in cell culture and biological assays such as DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, qPCR, and ELISA.
- Experience in Flow Cytometry and cell sorting is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to execute experiments with precision, analyze data, and maintain accurate and comprehensive records.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of regulatory and safety standards related to laboratory work.
