What You’ll Do :

As Event Sustainability Project Manager , you’ll be the lead on an event’s complete sustainability strategy. This role is ideal for a confident leader with a passion for environmental stewardship and a knack for social dynamics. You’ll organize, plan, and execute sustainability strategies while facilitating communication between clients, vendors, and teams.

What You’ll Say When Someone Asks About Your Job :

I help reduce the environmental impact of 10-60,000 person events and report on the results. I lead teams to strategize the how, measure their environmental impact, and develop innovative solutions to reduce waste, energy, emissions, and water use. Events typically produce 350% more waste and 300% more emissions than attendees’ everyday lives. I work to change that!”

Key Responsibilities : Lead Projects :

  • Define project objectives and success metrics, then guide teams to meet them.
  • Schedule, plan, and lead meetings with clients, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Own Every Detail :

  • Develop and manage project timelines, making sure tasks are completed on time.
  • Coordinate logistics, research sustainable event practices, and oversee carbon assessments through data collection and calculation.
  • Serve as the main point of contact between clients, staff, and suppliers.
  • Build strong relationships and advocate for sustainable practices in contract negotiations, training sessions, and implementation plans.

  • Develop sustainability plans tailored to each event, monitoring compliance and troubleshooting challenges.
  • Analyze environmental data and prepare detailed post-event reports with actionable recommendations.

  • Tackle complex challenges with creativity and persistence to ensure projects deliver measurable results.

  • Sustainability Savvy :

  • You have a passion for sustainability and know or are willing to learn about the environmental challenges we face.
  • Skilled in collecting and analyzing environmental footprint data and proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Whether virtual or in person, you communicate with clarity and purpose, making every interaction meaningful.
  • You thrive in both leading teams and working autonomously, adapting quickly to changing priorities.

  • Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally, with occasional weekend work.
  • Salary : $70,000-$80,000 per year
  • Up to 40 hours of dedicated paid sick leave
