The Role
We are seeking a passionate and creative Performing Arts Teacher to bring the performing arts– music, dance, and/or theater/drama—into our school community. The ideal candidate may specialize in one or more areas of the performing arts, with a strong focus on engaging students through rigorous instruction. Whether you are introducing foundational concepts in music or teaching elements of theater and drama, you will develop innovative lesson plans that reflect your area(s) of expertise. As a member of the Explore team, the Performing Arts Teacher will be committed to fostering academic excellence and student character development through their classroom.
Core Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging lessons that reflect your area(s) of specialization
- Instruct students in foundational performing arts concepts, such as music theory, composition, performance, dramatic expression, and stagecraft, depending on your discipline
- Foster a creative and engaging classroom environment that supports students’ artistic expression and character development where the whole class is included in activities. Students should not be sitting idly waiting for a turn
- Plan, direct, and produce school-wide performances or productions that showcase student growth and talent in the performing arts
- Assess student progress and provide meaningful feedback that supports continued artistic and academic growth
- Actively participate in school events, team meetings, and professional development, contributing to a positive and mission-driven school community

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Educational Background & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required, with preference given to Education, Music, Theatre, or a related area of study
- Performing Arts background (singing, acting, or music)
- Professional experience on stage is preferred
- 2 years of successful prior experience working with students is preferred
Compensation & Benefits:
The starting salary range for the Performing Arts Teacher is $50,995-$53,000, with a comprehensive benefits package including:
