Title - Senior Automation Designer - Mechanical
Location - Cambridge, Ontario, Canada (onsite only)
Experience 10 to 12years
Job Description:
- 10 years of experience as Automation Engineer
- 8 years of working experience of common machine shop techniques.
- Must have experience with Line-Automation (design & install special purpose machine (SPM)
- Mandatory experience with manufacturing automation domain (3 years at least)
- Must have a thorough knowledge and hands-on experience of drafting principles.
- 6 years' experience in AutoCAD and Solid Works.
- A thorough knowledge of the use of pneumatics and hydraulics. A thorough knowledge of the use of electrical devices (i.e. switches, load cells, LVDT's, etc.).
- Must be capable of designing tooling from sketches or verbal concepts.
- Review electrical requirements with respect to input and output devises with electrical designers.
- Assist the fabricators, machinists, toolmaker and electricians in the debug, integration resolving problems and completion of systems.
- Strictly follow CSA N285 / NQA Quality requirements
- Organize documentation, including quotes, drawing registers, correspondence, requisitions, drawings, schedules, etc. on projects you are supervising.
- Perform engineering calculations with respect to strength of materials, speeds, horsepower, temperature, pressure, force, etc. as related to machine and tool designs
- Provide design support related to construction of CSA B51 and CSA N285.0
