The Warehouse Materials Coordinator is a critical role responsible for overseeing the receiving, organization, and distribution of materials to support remodeling projects. This role ensures the seamless flow of materials, efficient warehouse operations, and adherence to safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and skilled at balancing logistics with collaboration across teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Materials Management
- Plan, procure, and track materials based on project schedules and specifications.
- Oversee inventory levels, including receiving, inspecting, and storing materials.
- Coordinate the return or replacement of damaged or unused materials.
Warehouse Operations
- Maintain an organized and safe warehouse, ensuring proper storage and labeling of materials.
- Develop and enforce safety protocols for material handling and storage.
- Ensure tools, machinery, and equipment are in working order.
Project Support
- Allocate and deliver materials to job sites in alignment with project timelines.
- Perform or supervise minor material preparations, such as staining, painting, or assembly.
- Provide quick solutions for material shortages or last-minute requests.
Logistics and Transportation
- Oversee loading, unloading, and secure transportation of materials to and from job sites.
- Ensure company vehicles are maintained, stocked with tools, and meet safety standards.
Documentation and Reporting
- Utilize inventory management software (e.g., Buildertrend) for tracking and reporting.
- Prepare regular updates on inventory, material usage, and costs for management.
Facilities and Grounds Maintenance
- Maintain cleanliness and security of warehouse and yard areas.
- Conduct routine safety inspections and address hazards promptly.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in warehouse or materials management, preferably in the remodeling or construction industry.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Attention to detail a must.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Knowledge of production planning processes is a plus.
- Familiarity with supplier management practices is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 80 pounds.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts).
