MCI Mortgage is Megatel Homes’ preferred lender. As the Post-Closing/Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of mortgage loan files after closing. This role involves reviewing closed loan packages, identifying and correcting deficiencies, and ensuring that all documentation meets regulatory and investor requirements. You will report directly to the Closing Manager and work closely with other internal departments to maintain compliance and support efficient loan delivery.
This is an in-office position, Monday through Friday. Professional attire is required. No remote, hybrid, or work-from-home options are available.
Responsibilities
Post-Closing Review and Quality Control:
- Review closed loan files to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with internal policies and industry regulations
- Identify and resolve any post-closing deficiencies by communicating with loan officers, title companies, and other stakeholders
- Verify that all documents, including closing disclosures, promissory notes, and deeds of trust, are properly executed and included in the file
Compliance Monitoring and Audit Support:
- Ensure ongoing compliance with federal, state, and investor regulations, including RESPA, TILA, TRID, and other applicable mortgage lending laws
- Oversee post-closing review processes to identify and mitigate compliance risks
- Prepare and organize required documentation for internal audits, investor reviews, and external regulatory examinations
- Coordinate the timely and accurate submission of Quarterly Call Reports
- Ensure completion and submission of the NMLS Financial Condition Report in accordance with regulatory deadlines
Loan Package Delivery and Investor Review:
- Prepare and submit complete and accurate loan packages to investors and servicers within established timelines
- Address any conditions or stipulations requested by investors to ensure timely funding and purchase
- Track and resolve any post-closing purchase suspense items
Document and File Management:
- Ensure that all loan files are properly scanned, uploaded, and stored in the loan origination system (LOS)
- Maintain an organized record of all loan documents and communications to ensure a smooth audit trail
Communication and Issue Resolution:
- Collaborate with internal departments, title companies, and other parties to address and resolve post-closing issues
- Communicate effectively with loan officers and processors to ensure timely resolution of any outstanding items
Policy and Procedure Compliance:
- Stay up to date with changes in regulatory guidelines and mortgage compliance requirements
- Provide recommendations to improve post-closing procedures and maintain compliance standards
Qualifications
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in post-closing, loan processing, or compliance within the mortgage industry
- Familiarity with loan origination systems (LOS) and document management platforms
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with Encompass, Calyx Point, or other LOS platforms is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies in loan documents
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet strict deadlines
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
