Job Overview

As an Electrical Drafter/Designer, you will work with our experienced team to create innovative designs that meet client requirements and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Work closely with electrical engineers to develop designs consistent with industry standard practices and client specifications.
Create and edit drawings, including plans, sections, motor/VFD elementaries, single lines, conduit and cable schedules, block diagrams, details, and other technical documents.
Perform load studies, size electrical equipment such as MCC motor starter buckets, transformers, overcurrent protection, and conduct voltage drop calculations, raceway fill calculations.
Use 3D software tools to size and route raceway, and produce area classification drawings and details.
Produce ladder and simple power circuit diagrams, interact with clients to convey project design and identify scope changes, and collaborate with other departments and suppliers to obtain relevant information.
Required Skills and Qualifications
At least 5 years of design experience, preferably in a related industry.
Proficient with AutoCAD 2D and 3D, Auto/CAD Electrical, and familiar with Plant3D and Navisworks software tools.
Knowledge of relevant Codes, Standards, and Symbols: NFPA, ANSI, IEEE, and ability to read and create ladder and functional type schematics.
Familiarity with switchgear, MCC, transformers, panelboards, electric motors, VFDs, and self-motivated to learn about technology and improve processes.
