GENERAL DESCRIPTION
MEGI Engineering Inc. is a full-service engineering design and consulting firm located in Portland, OR serving the pulp and paper, industrial, power and utility, and chemical markets. We strive to provide a Collaboration of Excellence, both within the company and with our clients. As a project manager, the successful candidate must be competent in performing, leading, and directing all aspects of engineering project execution, including planning, directing, supervising, and controlling all technical, fiscal, and administrative functions. Supervisory responsibility may include providing technical guidance and coordination for staff assigned to one or more projects, mentoring and developing staff, and interviewing and recruiting potential new hires. This position is client-facing with an emphasis on ensuring design, schedule, cost, scope, quality, and safety.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver projects on time, within budget, and to approved specifications
- Provide professional project management to reduce project execution costs and deliver value to the client
- Establish, monitor, and report metrics for key performance indicators during project execution
- Provide team leadership on projects and act as the liaison between the client and the design team
- Establish the overall project execution plan
- Accountable to ensure project deliverables satisfy the project requirements within the agreed upon scope of work
- Review and approve all engineering deliverables
- Creation of communication plans and schedules, ensure information is exchanged among key stakeholders, and conduct status review meetings
- Determine, monitor, and review costs, budgets, schedules, and staffing requirements for project teams
- Mentor and train clients, vendors, and team members in project management fundamentals, procedures, and activities
- Obtain new work through client interaction and proposal development
QUALIFICATIONS / QUALITIES
Typical duties will be performed in an office environment with occasional field trips to operating facilities or construction sites. This requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time, computer data entry, normal hearing, the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb and balance, clear close and distance vision, depth perception and the ability to focus. Lifting up to 25 pounds may be required.
