The Human Resources Specialist provides comprehensive support across all Military Personnel Administrative functional areas, including retiree services, casualty management, and general HR functions.
Responsibilities:
- Perform tasks across all HR functional areas, including Personnel Information, Strength Accounting, Records Management, Soldier Readiness, Assignment Management, and Personnel Actions.
- Retiree Services:
- Assist retirees with benefits counseling, retirement planning, and resolving entitlement issues.
- Manage SBP Open Season Enrollment and corrections to military records.
- Support Retiree Activity Days and Retiree Council meetings.
- Casualty Management:
- Manage casualty notifications, survivor assistance, and Line of Duty (LOD) investigations.
- Coordinate benefits for survivors, such as death gratuity payments and Invitational Travel Orders.
- Maintain and update casualty reports and compliance with Army regulations.
- General HR Functions:
- Process personnel actions such as promotions, awards, reassignment orders, and retirements.
- Conduct Soldier and Civilian In/Out Processing.
- Support strength accounting, readiness evaluations, and board processes
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year in military human resources or personnel management.
- Security Clearance: Active SECRET clearance required.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in Army HR systems (e.g., IPPS-A, iPERMS).
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Sensitivity and professionalism in handling confidential or difficult situations.
