Over the Road Truck Driver - A1 Lift Rentals

Position Summary : CDL Drivers must be able to safely drive tractor and trailer rigs under DOT regulations to transport equipment to job sites. This role requires safe handling and securement of loads while loading and unloading equipment. Must remain positive, flexible, and professional and can work collaboratively and independently to achieve stated goals and ensure regulatory compliance.Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities :

• Pick up machinery at a designated customer or at one of our warehouses as instructed by their dispatcher, safely transport the product, and deliver it in a timely manner, and in good condition.
• Follow ALL state and Federal Regulations required to operate commercial motor vehicle by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
• Experience working with flatbed, SD, and RGN in order to secure the machinery to a flatbed, step deck, double drop, or RGN with the use of chains and binders.
• All oversized loads (loads exceeding 13'6 High, 8'6 wide and 80,000 lbs.) require a permit to operate in each state traveled.
• The driver will be required to know the weight and dimensions of the load that they are picking up.
• Responsible for knowing if their load will require a permit, to obtain the permit from dispatch, to understand the restrictions of the permit (if any) before leaving the point of origin, and before entering each state thereafter.
• Log Hours of Service (HOS) and always remain compliant.
• Responsible for inspection and vehicle paperwork (to include a cab card, proof of insurance, IFTA annual permits, trailer registrations, DOT annual inspection).
• Operate a forklift (must be certified to operate), and other duties assigned by management.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip daily.
• Requires safe handling of loads, securing loads, tie-down, loading and unloading equipment.
• Adhere to safety requirements when hauling loads.
• Operating Vehicles, Mechanized Devices, or Equipment - Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts with remote controls.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Daily completion of required paperwork
• Complete housekeeping duties in assigned area, keep truck clean or project area daily and / or when required
• Perform other job responsibilities as assigned, some on-site repairs and PM's will be the responsibility of the driver, complete through inspections for Rental Equipment Check-In / Out following current process, after training.
• On occasion, the driver will be required to work in the warehouse, clear up in the yard, help load, chain, strap, tarp other loads going out of the facility, assist with the rigging process
• Follow accident procedures and report mechanical problems.
• You must always take time to ask the customer if they need a brief demo on how to perform the basic functions of the unit, remove parts or remote control, how to enter code locks, etc.
• You must always be presentable and respectful to the customer. You are the face of the company when you are interacting.Minimum Qualifications (Experience, Skills, and Education) :
• HS diploma or equivalent
• Possess valid Class A CDL with Air breaks and combo endorsements
• Minimum two (2) years proven driving experience at CDL level
• Basic knowledge of operating equipment (Forklifts, man lifts, mobile platform lifts, etc.)
• Experienced knowledge of load securement and safe hauling practices
