Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and entry level Accountant to join our dynamic team as a Tax Accountant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and filing tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and providing financial advice to clients. This role requires a strong understanding of technical accounting principles, financial planning, and the ability to work with various accounting software.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and file states sales/use tax, franchise, excise, personal property, gross receipts, and other specialty tax types.
- Prepare and file state/local business registrations, returns, and license and permits.
- Support payroll providers with state withholding, unemployment, and other specialty payroll accounts registrations, and withdrawals.
- Assist tax team with corporate registrations, withdrawals, and filing annual reports.
- Process tax notices and route to proper resolution path including, corporate, payroll, and specialty tax types.
- Assist tax team with addressing tax notices in timely manner and preparation of tax notice responses.
- Assist tax team with federal, states, and international tax payments.
- Conduct research on tax related issues and summarize findings for various departments and management.
- Organize and maintain tax records and documents
Experience
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 0-2 years proven experience in public accounting or a similar role is highly desirable.
- Strong technical accounting skills with a solid understanding of financial services.
- Proficient in Excel
- Familiarity with account reconciliation processes and financial planning strategies.
- Experience working with QuickBooks, Quicken, or similar accounting software is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all tasks performed.
- Strong communication skills to effectively convey complex financial information to clients.
This position has the opportunity to work hybrid, after training is completed (3-6 months)

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
