Key Responsibilities:
- Individual Counseling:
- Provide one-on-one counseling to youth and young adults, addressing a range of mental health issues including trauma, anxiety, depression, and behavioral challenges.
- Develop individualized care plans tailored to each client’s needs.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with state regulations and organizational policies.
- Group Workshops:
- Design and facilitate engaging workshops for youth and families focused on topics such as stress management, healthy relationships, self-esteem, coping strategies, healthy community relationships and mental health awareness.
- Collaborate with other staff to develop content aligned with program goals and community needs.
- Crisis Intervention:
- Respond to immediate mental health crises by providing de-escalation support and appropriate referrals.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to address emergency situations.
- Collaboration and Outreach:
- Work closely with program staff to integrate mental health services into broader initiatives, such as educational programs, workforce development, and gun violence prevention.
- Partner with schools, community organizations, and other stakeholders to expand mental health resources and support.
- Reporting and Evaluation:
- Track and document client progress for reporting purposes and grant requirements.
- Provide feedback on program outcomes to support continuous improvement efforts.
- Program Support:
- Assist in planning and executing special events and initiatives, including support for the MYGuard Initiative and other grant-funded programs.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
- Current and active LPC license in the state of Arizona.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with youth, preferably in a community-based or trauma-informed setting.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Experience in workshop facilitation and public speaking.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and culturally responsive care.
- Experience working with underserved communities, particularly youth of color.
- Familiarity with crisis intervention strategies.
- Flexible schedule, including evening and occasional weekend availability.
- Must be available for weekday sessions and workshops.
