Overview

The Research & Development Consumer Evaluator is responsible for organizing and conducting internal consumer sensory testing for the R&D department.

Responsibilities

• Performs established test procedures including recruiting and managing panels, organizing, and implementing tests in the sensory facility, and coding data for analyses.
• Develops questionnaires, study instructions with input from relevant stakeholders.
• Performs screening, tabulation, manages subgroups, and monitors overall available panel size to enable easy access for estimating testing capabilities.
• Ensures the right implementation of all sensory and in-home-use-tests (iHUT) in accordance with policy & best practices.
• Manages informed consent process, maintains, and archives all proper documentation including electronic and paper consent, study request forms, and questionnaires.
• Accurately tracks, team performance on monthly and quarterly basis for all studies done in accordance with dashboarding requirements.
• Manages the sensory testing schedule and calendar with input from R&D category stakeholders.
• Reports topline results from sensory tests, and iHUTs in a consistent and timely manner.
• Prepares, manages, and arranges delivery of products, samples, prototypes, etc., for sensory and in-home use tests for Melaleuca products and/or competitive products.
• Develops and follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and collection methods relevant to the tested product(s).
• Works to follow up with relevant stakeholders including but not limited to respondents, formulators, supervisors to ensure study integrity and accuracy.
• Identifies opportunities for improvements in sensory practices and recommend solutions.
• Shows passion for learning statistical analysis, data interpretation and reporting, with a basic understanding of tools.
• Maintains and updates the sensory database and/or knowledge centers (data, reports, etc.) to enable quick data retrieval.
• Maintains the sensory lab, organizes supplies and manages tester/panelist incentive data, and communicates to HR stakeholders to facilitate incentive payouts.

Qualifications

• Preferred but not required - an undergraduate degree and/or 2-4years of relevant background in the CPG industry.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Forms).
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with others.
• Ability to prioritize, organize and deliver consistently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently, exemplifies drive to grow within the team and organization.
• Punctual, honest, open, respectful, and with good follow-through.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and deliver on a plethora of initiatives for multiple stakeholders on an on-demand basis.
• Works well in a Windows OS environment and can pick up technical skills at reasonable speed.
