Overview
The Graphic Designer II has a minimum of 3 years of work experience, meets the qualifications of Graphic Designer, and has additional specialized skills in areas such as print production, publication design, or project management. The Graphic Designer II must show at least an intermediate level of competency in the areas of typography and layout, and an advanced understanding of photo selection and editing. Additionally, the Graphic Designer II should demonstrate an advanced understanding of file building and printing techniques, and assist in training coworkers who are still developing their expertise in those areas. A Graphic Designer II must be a clear visual communicator with proven strategic thinking, able to articulate and display a maturing graphic design philosophy. Those with this title should be proactive in identifying areas of improvement in all of his or her areas of responsibility.

- Ability to produce work in compliance with existing brand guidelines, and able to guide others with that expertise.
- Strong understanding of typographic principles.
- Works collaboratively with writers, photographers, and design team.

- Presents work to Associate Creative Director and Creative Director.
- Advanced understanding of prepress work, printing processes, and ability to troubleshoot print ready files.
- Takes ownership of projects.
- Is a life-long learner, and a relevant, career designer; stays up-to-date on industry standards, trends, and best practices.
- Sharp attention to detail.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues with files and equipment.
