Position Summary: As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software for MELD’s product line of large-scale additive metal 3D printers. The MELD Machines represent more than a decade of research and development. They are streamlined, painstakingly designed, and crafted with user experience in mind. MELD Machines outperform other technologies in both deposition rates and quality of components produced. A wide range of materials can be used in MELD machines and materials are not limited to powders, unlike many similar processes.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
· Strong experience with /C
· Experience with programing Beckhoff, Siemens, or similar systems.
· Experience with hardware/software interface code (i.e. RS232, EtherCat Protocol Suite, CAN, PLC)
· Strong debugging skills
· Experience with scripting or software installer creation, on Windows.
· Provide customer support.
· Specify, select, and procure electrical components, such as PLCs, CNCs, motors, drives, and I/O systems with integrated safety features, from suppliers such as Beckhoff, Siemens, and Fanuc.
· Perform system assembly, integration, and testing, including troubleshooting electrical and control system issues.
· Develop and review electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and wiring diagrams.
Desired:
· Experience with Git
· Experience developing HMI programs.
· Knowledge of modern software development best practices.
· Knowledge of modern Windows security best practices.
· Knowledge of algorithm design and analysis
· Experience with profiling code.
· Experience with embedded systems development.
· Knowledge of computer organization
· Knowledge of requirements management
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, talk, and hear. The employee occasionally is required to stand, stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee must lift and or push/pull up to 40 pounds.

Pay: $86,148.00 - $90,846.00 per year
