What are the responsibilities and job description for the Contracts Administrator position at MELE Associates, Inc.?
MELE Associates, Inc. is looking for a knowledgeable, dedicated, experienced, organized, and motivated full-time Contract Administrator to support the Director of Contracts and help the contracts group at MELE with Federal government contracts, subcontracts, and related agreements. The ideal candidate must have a strong background and deep understanding of Federal government contracts. This position requires the individual work at MELE’s headquarters office in Rockville, MD (at the present time in a required hybrid work environment with three days in the office and two days working from home). ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform independent actions with a high degree of initiative to support various tasks daily.
- Maintain accurate, organized, and complete contract files in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Utilize and improve Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system processes.
- Actively complete review, documentation requirements, and processing tasks on all Federal government contracts, subcontracts, related agreements/modifications and compliance issues.
- Administer contract and subcontract terms & conditions and flow-down clauses.
- Monitors contract and subcontract reporting and delivery requirements (if required).
- Ability to collaborate professionally and appropriately with cross-functional teams on a daily basis. (i.e. accounting, project controls, senior management).
- Assist the Director of Contracts Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), compliance, and relevant flow-down requirements from federal, state and local government-funded contracts.
- Administer contract and subcontract closeouts as required.
- Assist the Director of Contracts to continually improve processes, procedures and policies to promote compliance and efficiency of contract administration.
- Mentor lower-level contract staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND YEARS OF EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree required and degree or other formal education related to government contracting, law, or corporate compliance a plus.
- 5-7 years related experience and or training or equivalent combination of education and experience in managing various forms of Federal Government contracts.
- Understanding of various Federal government and commercial contract types of such as Time and Materials, Firm Fixed Price, Cost Plus Fixed Fee, IDIQ Contracts, Multiple Award Contracts, contracts awarded under the General Services Administration (GSA) schedules, Blanket Purchase Agreements, Teaming Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements, and other corporate agreements.
- Strong understanding of Federal contracting and a good command of the FAR and capacity to document contracts/subcontracts accordingly.
- Ability to recognize when improvements need to be made and make suggestions for their incorporation.
- Excellent planning and organization skills, and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and high desire to seek cross-functional synergies.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Desired software experience: an industry standard CLM system (preferred Agiloft), an industry standard CRM system (preferred Deltek Costpoint, Deltek GovWin)
- Required software experience: Microsoft Suite of products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint) and ability to learn new computer applications.
- Must be able to work on different projects at one time in a team environment.
- Active Q/TS/SCI/Clearance desired or able to qualify for security clearance.
SALARY
- Salaries are determined based on several factors including external market data, internal equity, and the candidate’s related knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position. The range for this position is $95k-120k.
