What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nuclear Science and Program Advisor position at MELE Associates, Inc.?
Position Summary:
MELE is looking for a Nuclear Science and Program Advisor to join our team at NNSA. The individual should have familiarity and working experience with a broad range of NNSA laboratory technical capabilities and missions, and associated federal partners. Individual should have advanced knowledge and experience with development of emerging technologies, nuclear incident response diagnostics, and proliferation detection techniques.
Essential Functions:
- Draft technical correspondence and briefings regarding nuclear counterterrorism and nuclear counterproliferation technical assessments
- Review research, development, test, and evaluation aspects of the program to determine project performance toward meeting scientific, cost, and schedule goals
- Draft, assess, and revise the program and project plans based on the individual’s knowledge, experience, and expertise in the areas of nuclear counterterrorism-related management, nonproliferation, counterproliferation, emergency response, security, intelligence, and operations security activities
Minimum Requirements:
- Q/TS Clearance with ability to obtain SCI
- Detail-oriented
- Strong writing skills; experience with nuclear weapon design principles.
- Travel to the national laboratories and other domestic or international sites is required (25%).
- Doctorate degree in Physics, Mathematics or Engineering with 7 years of experience the NNSA National Laboratory supporting global security activities
Location: This is a full-time onsite position in Washington, DC.
