Overview
We are seeking a friendly and organized Front Desk Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for our clients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while managing various administrative tasks. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Patient Interaction: Greet patients warmly, check them in, and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately.
- Scheduling: Manage appointment scheduling for new and existing patients, maintaining an efficient calendar for the providers.
- Insurance and Referrals: Verify insurance coverage, process referrals, and assist patients with questions related to their benefits.
- Phone and Email Communication: Answer incoming calls and emails professionally, providing accurate information and directing inquiries to the appropriate team members.
- Record Management: Maintain and update patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Payments and Billing: Process payments, co-pays, and billing inquiries.
- Office Coordination: Assist with other administrative tasks, including maintaining a clean and organized front office environment, managing supply inventory, and supporting clinical staff as needed.
Other Tasks:
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail and packages efficiently.
- Assist with clerical duties such as proofreading documents and data entry.
- Provide administrative support as needed, including filing, faxing, and copying documents.
- Act as a personal assistant to management when required.
Skills
- Prior experience in a medical office, particularly in podiatry or a related specialty, is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and basic office software.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus, enhancing communication with diverse clientele.
- Excellent proofreading skills to ensure accuracy in all communications and documents.
- Effective calendar management skills to coordinate appointments efficiently.
- Strong time management abilities to prioritize tasks effectively in a busy environment.
- Previous experience in administrative or office management roles is preferred.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting.
