Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Instructor/Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
Meliora Academy is a small private school designed to provide intensive and comprehensive educational services to students with autism spectrum and related disorders. The ideal candidate would be someone who understands the need for adapting the instruction to meet the students individual needs.
ABA Instructor/RBT Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction of individualized teaching sessions under the close supervision of Special Education Teacher
- Implementation of behavior support plans under the close supervision of BCBA
- Communicate in a comprehensible manner using language and style appropriate to the learner
- Demonstrating the ability to check student comprehension of subject matter and provide accurate feedback to Chief Administrator regarding student progress
- Collect academic and behavior data
- Creating student visual supports and materials needed for instruction
- Utilize sensory strategies throughout the day and strategies that will prevent behavior incidents
- Assisting the teacher with maintaining a classroom environment conducive to effective learning
- Performing other responsibilities, as directed
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- RBT certification is preferred
- Successfully complete a criminal background check
- Receive and maintain certifications in Safety Care, First Aid and CPR
- Must be able to lift/push/pull/move up to 60 lbs
Employment Details:
- Work hours are Monday-Friday 8:00am-3:30pm
- Meliora follows a typical school calendar including a 7-week summer program
