Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Cost Accountant to support our coffee production facilities. This position plays a key role in cost accounting, inventory analysis, and financial reporting. You will work closely with the Plant Controller to manage month-end closing activities and contribute to special projects as needed.
Key Responsibilities
· Oversee cost accounting functions, reporting, and analysis for the coffee production plant.
· Maintain plant cost structures, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and annual standards to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
· Establish and enforce robust controls to safeguard inventory assets and prevent discrepancies.
· Reconcile inventory accounts on a monthly basis, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
· Provide insightful monthly variance analysis reporting for select departments, identifying key trends and areas for improvement.
· Support month-end closing processes, including preparing journal entries, performing reconciliations, and generating reports.
· Prepare and distribute monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to support data-driven decision-making.
· Monitor inventory obsolescence and proactively recommend actions to mitigate potential risks.
· Coordinate and actively participate in the annual physical inventory process to ensure accuracy.
· Assist with analysis and reconciliation of cycle counts to maintain inventory integrity.
· Contribute to the annual budgeting process by providing cost insights and financial forecasts.
· Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales tax returns in compliance with local regulations.
· Lead and participate in special projects, offering analytical support to enhance business operations.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
· Proficient in SAP S/4 Hana
· Advanced Excel skills with a focus on data analysis and reporting
· Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact and collaborate across all levels of the organization
· 3-5 years of experience in
· a related cost accounting or finance role
· Proven ability in cost analysis and financial reporting
· Must be able to work at a computer (height-adjustable) for extended periods
· Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. when necessary
