SUMMARY
The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic position conducts machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
- Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs
- Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines
- Reads and interprets equipment manuals, blue prints and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
- Comply with OSHA safety and health rules
- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Experience with robotic automation a plus.
- Experience with the use of a Bridgeport and lathe preferred
- Able to wire 480 VAC, 220 VAC single and three phase circuits using electrical background
- Basic welding experience preferred
- Demonstrate teamwork and respect by working constructively with co-workers to achieve the best results possible
- All other duties assigned by the supervisor or department manager.
- Must be flexible on work hours.
- Must have the discipline to work alone and accomplish task on time.
LEADERSHIP/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- No supervisory responsibility
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- One (1) to Two (2) years’ experience in Machine Repair
- Mechanically inclined
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS, WORK ENVIRONMENT AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Work in a manufacturing environment
- Exposure to heat, loud noise, dust, odors, dirt/dust and fumes.
- Must be able to stay over on any giving day when needed to keep production equipment.
- Frequently stand, walk, push, pull, reach, and grasp
- Frequently lift and lower up to 50 pounds. Assistance is required when lifting over 50 pounds
- Frequently carry up to 50 pounds. Assistance is required when lifting over 50 pounds
- Frequently work from a scissor lift up to 25 feet in the air.
