Lead Special Education Teacher Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Lead Special Education Teacher at Melmark New England in Stoughton, MA. The Lead Special Education Teacher will be responsible for overseeing and managing special education programs, creating individualized education plans, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to support students with disabilities. They will also provide direct instruction, behavior management, and communication support to students.
Lead Special Education Teacher Schedule & Pay
Schedule: M-F 8-4:30pm
Pay 72-90k, depending on experience and education (competitive)
Lead Special Education Teacher Qualifications
- Experience in teaching special education, particularly in a middle school setting
- Knowledge of disabilities, including autism and intellectual disabilities
- Strong communication skills for working with students, families, and colleagues
- Understanding of applied behavior analysis principles in education
- Ability to create and implement individualized education plans
- Flexibility, patience, and empathy in working with students with diverse needs
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field
