General Responsibilities:
Oversees the development and implementation of programs and services and oversees the daily operations of Melmark NE. Develops strategic objectives for the Massachusetts Division, and provides leadership to direct reports in order to assure the achievement of these objectives. Supports the CEO, COO and the Board of Directors through various committees and activities, assuming responsibility for policy development, quality assurance, risk management, regulatory compliance, fiscal integrity and excellence in care, and delivery of all services.
This role includes the oversight of all programs and ensures quality direct supervision in all programs and services. The individual identified must be able to develop programs from the ground up, including the hiring, training and supervision of new staff. Must be able to work with Massachusetts regulatory and government agency personnel at all levels. The Executive Director is the responsible individual for retaining and obtaining appropriate licensure for school and residential services including the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), Department of Disability Services (DDS) and Department of Early Education and Care (DEEC) approval. The Executive Director must have senior level education skills, clinical skills, medical supervision skills and the demonstrated ability to attend to numerous details and understand multiple regulatory standards. The position will require flexible hours.

- Berkshire Association for Behavior Analysis and Therapy (BABAT)
- Massachusetts Association of Applied Behavior Analysis (MassABA)
- Massachusetts Interagency Restraint and Seclusion Advisory Group
Participates in advancement activities of the state division. Ability to support grant development, donor outreach, support and events. Participates in advancement planning for Golf Tournament and major events.
Basic Qualifications:
Education/Training: Doctorate of Psychology or Education preferred; Minimum of Master's Degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology or Public Health.
Certifications/Licensure: If Doctorate level, licensed psychologist or BCBA-D preferred. If Master’s level, Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification required. A valid US driver’s license and a minimum age of twenty-one (21) years old. Must be capable of attaining approved Melmark driver status. Must meet Massachusetts Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) background check requirements. Successful completion of employer provided certification in Certified Diversity Executive (CDE), CPR, First Aid, Crisis Intervention, and Melmark’s Orientation Program and New Hire Onsite training program.
Skill(s): Strong background in clinical application of applied behavior analysis with individuals with acquired brain injury, neurological disorders, and autism spectrum disorders. Strong experience working with administrative and organizational services in the applied setting.
Experience: Minimum of ten (10) years of administrative and organizational supervision within an applied community setting.
Interrelationships: Works cooperatively with Board of Directors, Donors, Vendors, President/CEO, consumers and their families/guardians, and staff at all levels of the Melmark New England, Carolinas and Melmark Pennsylvania service divisions.
