General Responsibilities
The Maintenance Support employee performs a wide variety of maintenance operations of the school, residences, and any other program or support settings, of Melmark New England.
This position supports Melmark New England’s mission to serve children, adolescents and adults with autism spectrum disorders, acquired brain injury, neurological diseases and disorders, comorbid mental health disorders and severe challenging behaviors. It is required that employees demonstrate their understanding of that service mission through their work behavior and commitment to the students and the staff who are directly involved in the delivery of that service.
All staff are expected to adhere to Melmark’s Code of Conduct and Standards of Professionalism included in the Employee Handbook. It is the responsibility of each staff member to read and familiarize themselves with the contents of the Employee Handbook and ask questions relative to the application of these standards in the workplace if unclear to the employee.
Basic Qualifications
Education/Training: High School Diploma or G.E.D. Trade school continued education ceritficate preferred.
Certifications/Licensure: A valid US driver’s license and a minimum age of twenty-one (21) years old. Must be capable of attaining approved Melmark driver status. Must meet Massachusetts Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) background check requirements. Successful completion of employer provided certification in CPR, First Aid, and Melmark’s Orientation Program and New Hire Onsite training program.
Skill(s):The successful candidate will have experience in preventive, routine, and emergency maintenance procedures. The technician will perform tasks as part of a team, and some tasks individually, such as electrical, plumbing, general carpentry, locks, and snow removal.
This position includes participation in the emergency on call service rotation after hours and on weekends.
Experience: Minimum of three to five (3-5) years of maintenance experience.
Interrelationships: Interacts with all Melmark New England departments to provide efficient maintenance support to all programs.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
