SLP Overview
The Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for all clinical duties including identification, diagnosis and therapy of individuals with communication disorders which are appropriate to the ages and populations served. Additional clinical duties of therapists include management of treatment delivered through direct therapeutic services, tracking information and consultative services as needed.
Schedule and Salary Information
- Monday- Friday 7:30a-4p
- Starting Salary: $74,288.00 ( ) based on years of experience
Requirements
- Minimum of a Master’s Degree as a Speech-Language Therapist from an Educational Services Board Approved (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association-ASHA) approved university program.
- Strong Clinical Fellowship (CFY) Candidate will be considered
- Must be licensed as a Speech-Language Pathologist with the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologist. CCC-SLP certified from ASHA, however CF will be accepted with supervision requirement.
- Experience and/or training in augmentative communication, manual communication, clinical or practicum background with Developmentally Delayed, Emotionally/Behaviorally Disturbed, Cognitively Challenged, Autism, Pervasive Development Disorder and Brain Injured individuals.
- A valid US driver’s license and a minimum age of twenty-one (21) years old. Must be capable of attaining approved Melmark driver status.
SLP Responsibilities
- Implement Behavior Support Plans for each student as designed
- Implements IEP objectives as written and designed
- Comes prepared to planning meetings with current performance levels and proposed objectives. Collects, summarizes and presents baseline data in preparation for final planning meeting. Creates Goals and Objectives for final planning meeting. Follows timelines in the preparation and writing of IEP document.
- Collaborates with team on determining the best three year evaluation tools. Completes 3 Year assessments thoroughly, relevant to the child and on time.
- Conducts thorough assessments/screenings upon student admission.
