Melodic Movements is growing, and we’re looking for a dedicated, passionate long-term substitute dance instructor to join our team while one of our instructors is on extended leave. If you thrive on inspiring and nurturing young dancers, we want you to help us keep the energy flowing and the performances unforgettable.
What You’ll Do:
In this role, you’ll work closely with our hard-working and talented dancers, ranging in age from 2 to 11, to establish proper technique, create choreography, and maintain an atmosphere of positivity and growth. We are specifically looking for someone who works exceptionally well with young dancers and provides top-tier customer service to our dance families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach, demonstrate, and establish proper dance technique and skills to dancers from preschool age through pre-teens.
- Prepare thoughtful, detailed lesson plans that promote skill development and overall growth.
- Foster a classroom environment that encourages creativity, respect, and enthusiasm for dance.
- Choreograph standout performances for our two annual productions and community events as needed.
- Provide an exceptional experience by building strong, positive relationships with both dancers and their families through outstanding communication and service.
Experience That’s a Plus:
- Comfort and effectiveness working with young dancers, especially children as young as 2 years old up to 11 years old.
- Knowledge of various dance styles and techniques.
- Flexibility to work evenings throughout the week and on Saturdays.
What We’re Looking For:
- At least two years of dance teaching experience.
- Strong knowledge of dance terminology and history.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Self-motivated and able to take direction well.
- A passion for nurturing growth and creativity in students.
- A customer service mindset, ensuring parents and dancers feel supported and valued.
Commitment:
- Estimated Hours Per Week: 6-8 hours
- Position Type: Long-term substitute with potential opportunities for growth based on performance and results.
