What are the responsibilities and job description for the Landscaper position at Melton Truck Lines?
Our Landscapers are responsible for the maintenance and appearance of our 20 acre facility and property including but not limited to lawn, flower beds, parking lots, patios, and shop.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following.
- Mowing (push mower and rider), trimming, blowing, and weeding lawn
- Planting, weeding, and upkeep of flower beds
- Pruning trees and shrubs
- Monitor all tools, equipment and machinery for needed maintenance
- Track and record all job expenses and hours worked accurately
- Maintain a clean and safe job site at all times
- Other duties as required.
Requirements:
- 2 years’ experience with landscaping. Commercial landscaping preferred.
- Current valid driver’s license & dependable vehicle.
- Proficient heavy equipment operating skills, including riding lawn mower
- Extensive knowledge and experience in installing a variety of hardscape applications
- Knowledge of perennials, shrubs, evergreens, and trees
- Highly motivated, self-driven individual who is detail orientated
- Excellent attention to detail while working in a fun & fast paced environment
- Strong verbal & written communication skills
- Good time management skills; be available for seasonal long hours & weekends- Especially in inclement weather.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Able to work effectively with individuals of differing knowledge and background (i.e. clients, contractors, vendors, other designers)
- Punctual and dependable- including being willing to be on call.
- Must be able to talk, hear, sit, walk, type, and write.
- Must be capable of lifting 75 lbs. on a regular basis.
