About this Position
Berman Hebrew Academy, a Jewish day school located in Rockville Maryland, and a member school of the Potomac Valley Athletic Conference is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable assistant coach for the 2024-2025 season. This is a seasonal position The role of the girls assistant head coach is to help lead and elevate a dynamic and committed group of students to being a top program. The ideal candidate will instill discipline, hard-work, and commitment in our student athletes while also placing emphasis on character development, sportsmanship, and teamwork. We are looking for a positive communicator: somebody who will thrive in interacting thoughtfully and respectfully with players, parents, and coaches, and act as a major support for the head coach.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist in organizing and planning practices and gameplans

Helping to plan and organize effective practices that will build the team towards greater proficiency of individual skills as well as team concepts and strategies.

Acting as a role-model: conducting yourself with passion and enthusiasm while staying positive and professional

Establish clear expectations and policies with student athletes.

Attend all practices, home and away games, and coaches meetings.
(Practices and games will generally be evenings anywhere in the 5-9 range. There will be no Friday or Saturday day practices/games).

Attend any pre or post season tournaments (some may require travel)
Qualification and Skills:
- Prior Coaching experience (Minimum 3 years experience)

Reputable background working with youth

Must possess a good working knowledge of the sport including rules, regulations, and strategies.

Good communication skills with players, parents, and other staff.

Excellent organizational and leadership skills
