What are the responsibilities and job description for the Member Service Representative position at Members Choice Credit Union?
Primary Purpose:
To perform various account transactions and provide accurate and efficient services to Credit Union members in accordance with Credit Union policies and procedures.
Nature and Scope:
1) Receive members and nonmembers of Credit Union in person and telephone, responding to inquiries and/or directs to appropriate personnel as necessary.
2) Receives deposits, payments, etc., and accurately posts to members accounts through the use of the computer terminal/personal computer.
3) Handles requests for withdrawals and transfers, including generation of cash, checks, and charges against member’s accounts.
4) Orders and sells traveler checks, balances and maintains proper records of such transactions.
5) Perform general clerical duties, distributes mail, sells theme park tickets, handle cash, open new accounts, cash checks, cash advances for Visa and American Express, facilitates safety deposit box transactions, etc., in accordance with Credit Union policies and procedures.
6) Cross sell all Credit Union products as appropriate.
7) Assure proper maintenance, cleanliness, and security of work area, desks, cash drawer, equipment, etc. which may include lifting up to 51 pounds.
8) Balance financial activities processed thru their teller station each day in compliance with Credit Union policies and procedures.
9) Work the drive-thru as needed or assigned, using the equipment to facilitate transactions.
10) Provides assistance in activities and other areas as directed by supervision.
11) Maintain work area in neat orderly fashion.
Knowledge and Experience:
The position requires a high school diploma or the equivalent. The incumbent must have good communication and typing skills with the ability to operate a personal computer. Prior financial institution experience is preferable along with sufficient math skills to handle cash transactions. An understanding of the Credit Union system is necessary in order to perform satisfactorily.
Background & Credit Check and Drug screening required prior to employment.
