Reports To: VP, Head of Fiduciary Administration Job Status: Exempt Base Salary Range: $95,000 - $125,000 Additional Compensation: Annual Discretionary Incentive This is a hybrid role open to candidates residing near an MTC office in Tampa, FL; Denver, CO; Fairfax, VA; or Las Vegas, NV. Job Summary The primary role of the AVP, Trust Officer is to engage with Trust Prospects, serve as day-to-day administrator for an assigned book of business, and manage client and partner relationships. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Serves as a primary point of contact and educational resource for Trust Prospects from the MTC website and general phone inquiries. Engages in client discovery with Trust Prospects. Tracks and maintains Trust Prospects list and account matters. Serves as a day-to-day administrator for MTC accounts and MTC partner offices as assigned. Administers complex fiduciary account relationships including directed and delegated trusts, traditional irrevocable trusts, and investment management accounts Coordinates with clients to obtain information to prepare Discretionary Memoranda for trust committee review. Collects and prepares all necessary paperwork for client transactions. Prepares the closing of accounts for review by the Senior Fiduciary Officer. Coordinates with internal partners (Trust Operations, Investments, Tax, Business Development) on client issues and potential opportunities. Monitors bill pay requests submitted by clients or beneficiaries. Prepares annual administrative account reviews for review and approval and resolves exceptions by deadlines. Coordinates with internal partners (Investments, Real Estate and Specialty Assets) to ensure that all Reg 9 reviews are properly completed by the assigned department. 13. Monitors accounts to minimize overdrafts and excess cash balances. Serves as a liaison for MTC partner office clients during account termination and identifies opportunities for client retention. Provides financial planning support to Financial Advisors and clients as needed. Identifies and participates in other opportunities to engage with centers of influence. Completes special projects and other related duties in keeping with the trust company’s fiduciary responsibilities. Responds to account inquiries from clients in a timely manner, providing quality customer service by meeting or exceeding the clients’ needs and expectations. Communicates effectively with beneficiaries, grantors, attorneys, and investment advisors to ensure all parties are well informed. Required Skills/Abilities Strong knowledge of trust, administrative, operational and risk mitigation standards, including the ability to effectively communicate related policies and procedures. Strong understanding of trust documents and related fiduciary terms. Ability to articulate the benefits and needs of various types of Trusts to clients. Ability to effectively interpret and communicate administrative actions to clients. Ability to effectively work with clients and fiduciary administrators in a team environment. Proficiency in technology, including the ability to effectively use a variety of software programs and operating systems. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently. Ability to multitask and re-prioritize. Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree required. Certification in trust administration and operations (i.e. CTFA, CFP) or graduate degree (i.e. Masters, JD) required. Minimum three years of trust administration experience with a financial institution required. Experience with Salesforce, Laserfiche, and FIS TrustDesk preferred. Financial planning experience preferred. Physical Requirements Regular in-office attendance. Ability to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods. Ability to effectively operate a computer and other office equipment. Occasional travel required for meetings, conferences, etc. as requested.
