What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Specialist position at MembersAlliance Credit Union?
We are currently seeking an addition to our accounting team who will be responsible for performing a variety of credit union accounting functions.
This position supports the financial management of the Credit Union through GL postings, reconcilements and reports and assists with a variety of different accounting responsibilities.
Some of the daily support includes reconciling and researching outstanding items in various general ledger and credit union owned accounts. Creating and performing accounting entries, monitoring and processing credit card fraud. This position also serves as a back-up for various other accounting functions in the department, including downloading and posting ACH files, processing and generating accounts payable, processing mobile deposit transactions, processing returned checks, and other accounting tasks as needed.
This position requires accuracy and very strong attention to detail. A minimum of two to five years of related experience and a HS Diploma/Equivalent are required. Prior accounting experience in a credit union is strongly preferred.
