What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Semi Driver position at Memco?
Memco is seeking a reliable and experienced Semi Truck/ Trailer Driver to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely transporting precast concrete slabs and other construction materials short distances within a construction yard. A strong work ethic, attention to safety, and excellent driving skills are essential. The ideal candidate would present a Class A CDL and be available Mon - Fri on a long-term basis.
Schedule: Mon - Fri ; 6am - 3pm
Pay: $18/hr
Long Term & Full Time
Class A CDL not required but recommended
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate semi-trucks and trailers to transport cargo to and from specified destinations
- Perform daily vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness
- Load and unload freight safely and efficiently (may include use of forklifts or pallet jacks)
- Maintain accurate logs of working hours, routes, and delivery schedules in compliance with DOT regulations
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety protocols
- Report any mechanical issues or delays to the dispatch team immediately
- Ensure the security of cargo throughout the trip
- Communicate professionally with dispatch, customers, and team members
- Keep truck clean and in good operating condition
Requirements:
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A
- ACCOUNTABLE AND COMMUNICATIVE INDIVIDUAL YOU HAS A GOOD WORK ETHIC
- Clean driving record (MVR)
- Minimum 1 year of professional driving experience preferred
- Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations
- Ability to lift up to 60/70 lbs and sit for extended periods
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
A pre-employment drug screen will be required for all positions.
