Memorial Christian Academy is seeking a dynamic and faith-filled Fine Arts Teacher to lead our Art, Music, and Theater programs. We're looking for a creative leader who is passionate about the arts and committed to helping students discover and develop their God-given talents.
Key Responsibilities:
Art: Teach foundational and advanced art techniques, foster artistic expression, and organize student art showcases
Music: Lead general music instruction and performance opportunities (such as choir, chapel music, or concerts)
Theater: Direct seasonal drama productions, coach performance skills, and cultivate confidence through the performing arts
Chapel: work with students to lead weekly chapel services
Plan lessons that integrate biblical truth with creative expression;
Teach and inspire students across grade levels (K–12);
Collaborate with staff to plan school events, chapel, and performances
Qualifications:
- A committed relationship with Jesus Christ and a desire to disciple students through the arts
- Experience in teaching or directing in one or more fine arts disciplines
- Creative, energetic, and organized with excellent communication skills
- Ability to lead student performances and manage rehearsals
- Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Education, or related field preferred
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and encourage student creativity.
- Teach various arts techniques, including drawing, painting, foundational vocal and instrumental music skills, elements of acting, staging, costumes, props, etc
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their artistic skills.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes artistic exploration and collaboration.
- Organize art exhibitions or showcases to display students' work and celebrate their achievements.
- Stay updated on current trends in art education and incorporate new ideas into the curriculum.
Skills
- A degree from a recognized university in Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of various art mediums and teaching methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey concepts to students.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students of diverse backgrounds and skill levels.
- Strong organizational skills to manage classroom activities and student projects effectively.
- Proficiency in using technology for teaching purposes, including digital art tools.
