Memorial Community Hospital and Health System (MCH), located in Blair, NE, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a PRN/Casual status. This position offers an opportunity to make a difference by providing high-quality, patient-focused care in a fast-paced environment. As an Emergency RN, you will coordinate, delegate, and deliver patient care while working collaboratively with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, and patients/families. You will utilize critical thinking skills, implement nursing processes, and adhere to professional nursing standards as outlined by the Nurse Practice Act.

Job Summary:
Shift Details: PRN position.
Evaluate patients at triage and assess actual or potential health issues.
Administer medications, treatments, and prescribed regimens via various routes (e.g., IV, IM, oral).
Provide age-appropriate care for patients ranging from neonates to the elderly.
Communicate effectively with providers and interdisciplinary teams regarding patient needs.
Educate patients and their families about care plans and health management.
Participate in problem-solving, performance improvement initiatives, and patient satisfaction projects.
Ensure compliance with EMTALA requirements and hospital safety standards.
Job Requirements:
Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program. A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is preferred.
Licensure/Certifications:
Current RN license in Nebraska or Iowa.
Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required).
PALS certification (required within 60 days of hire).
TNCC certification (or ATCN in lieu) required within one year of hire.
Experience: Minimum of one year in an acute care setting; emergency room experience strongly preferred.
Skills:
Critical thinking and ability to manage urgent/emergent care.
Proficiency in hemodynamics, cardiac monitoring, phlebotomy, and IV/central line skills.
Expertise in managing life-sustaining functions in unstable patients.
